The Truth About Internet Marketing Part 4

Now the Pros of Working From Home

There may be a lot of cons to internet marketing but there are also some great rewards.  After over a decade working for myself I could never imagine punching a time clock again.

You Are The Boss

Yes you read that right.  This makes the pros and the cons list.  Being your own boss means things don’t get done unless you initiate it but the fact that you answer only to yourself is such a perk.

But what about the customers?  Don’t you have to answer to them?  The truth is, in internet marketing you don’t have to deal with rude customers.   This may sound like poor business practice and you don’t want to risk your reputation.  But once in a while you are going to run across customers that are downright impossible to please.  How do you handle those customers who are not only unreasonable but extremely rude?

You don’t have to take it.  Unsubscribe them and blacklist them so that they can never buy from you again.  Some of these negative customers are just playing the system such as those who purchase digital products and repeatedly ask for refunds.

When it comes to internet marketing, being your own boss means you make your own rules and work during the times that suit you.  You can also work wherever it suits you.  Remember in the con section I mentioned working vacations?  The truth is many of us in internet marketing love what we do so much that working on vacation doesn’t really feel like work.

Of course if you are on a family vacation by all means cut back and enjoy your vacation.  But just knowing that you can check in a few times a day to answer emails or take care of customers will give you peace of mind that everything is running smoothly.

There is No Salary Cap!

Working from home means you have the potential to build a really decent income over time.  No more waiting for that piddly cost of living raise.

Of course, how much you make is up to you.  You can make really good money in internet marketing but you have to work at it.

The Opportunities Are Endless

There are several different home business models that you can choose from.  Working for yourself means you can explore what is out there based on your strengths and weaknesses.

There are also times that you may even be able to enhance your current business.  This happened to me while I was looking for ways to promote my niche blogs.  I found a way to promote my niche blogs while adding another income stream.

Making the Right Decision

So now you have the pros and cons of working from home.  Do you think that internet marketing is for you?  Maybe you would feel safer working for a boss.  There is nothing wrong with that.  Internet marketing is not for everyone.   You just need to decide if the pros outweigh the cons.

Whatever you do, follow your heart.  If your situation means that you need the security of a steady paycheck then by all means do what you have to do.  If this is your situation then you can decide if you want to give internet marketing a try part time or not.  Only you know what is right for you.
