Get More Affiliate Marketing Sales

Whether you are building niche blogs, websites or maybe building Squidoo lenses chances are you have heard the term affiliate marketing.  Simply put, it is a great way to earn money by advertising other vendors products and services on your sites.  However, when it comes to earning successful affiliate marketing sales just throwing a few banners or links on your site is not going to bring in the sales that you hope for.  What you really need is targeted traffic.

Would you rather have 5,000 visitors per day to your website or blog who may or may not be interested in what you’re selling, or maybe stumbled onto your page by mistake, or would you rather have 500 visitors per day who came to your site looking to purchase exactly what you had to offer?  When it comes down to it you will most definately make more affilate sales on those 1,000 visitors since they are your target market.

So how do you go about getting targeted traffic to your site? There are a quite a few methods that can help you secure more qualified traffic to your site. The first step is offering a website that has unique content, and offers something everybody else doesn’t.  This could be a site that offers tips, product reviews or shows your knowledge on a specific subject.  The important thing is, you want your visitors to be interested in what you have to say.

Another way to build traffic to your website or blog is to create incoming links leading to your sites, niche blogs and Squidoo lenses. One way to do this is to write relevant articles with links to your site and submit them to article directores such as Ezinearticles.com.  You can also build free Squidoo lenses, hubpages and post in forums that are relevant to your site.  All these methods are free but when posting to forums make sure that they allow you to have a signature line with a link to your site in it.

Another possible avenue for generating traffic is by purchasing ads through groups like Google, Yahoo and other publishing networks. You can also look into buying text links on other people’s sites to generate extra traffic. You can even do link exchanges with websites and blogs that are similar to yours.

Learning about search engine optimization (SEO) can give you an edge in the search engines. When building your website, you’ll want to work on link building, adding proper title tags and alt tags and sitemaps, along with other things that will make your website stand out to the search engines.  This may all sound intimidating right now but there are some good resources online to walk you through everything step by step.

For successful affiliate marketing sales, concentrating on a certain niche and driving laser targeted traffic to that niche means more sales, something that all successful internet marketers understand.
